#Post The first 3 steps as an entrepreneur

Starting a career as a real estate entrepreneur is a challenging journey, but starting this journey in a new country? This is already a real adventure. When I chose to enter the multifamily field in Canada, I immediately understood that what would help me succeed was not only my knowledge, but the ability to connect with the right people and build a strong network of contacts.

Here are the first steps I took, which laid the foundations for my path:

1️⃣ Personal connections:

I started with the connections I already had. I contacted an Israeli broker I knew in Canada, a kind man with a wide network of contacts who agreed that I would join him on a field trip to see what his private investments look like.

From getting to know him, I met a couple of impressive entrepreneurs who are involved in AirBNB and they became one of my main sources for consultations.

2️⃣ Digital presence:

I published posts in relevant Facebook groups, both of Israelis in Canada and of local real estate communities. The goal was twofold: to draw knowledge and create connections. My posts sparked conversations, connected me to new people and showed that I was here to learn and develop.

In addition, in order to "throw the case over the fence" I uploaded a podcast documenting the path I take as a real estate entrepreneur.

It started with me looking for podcasts on the subject and I didn't find one that talks about things honestly and gives practical tools to get started and I didn't find one, so I decided to make one myself and it continued as one of my main pursuits through which I make connections with professionals in the field and promote the things that are important to me.

3️⃣ Learning and belonging to the community:

I signed up for a professional course in real estate.

This course is an online investor training program. This step allowed me first of all to get to know the real estate sector in Canada and to understand what types of investments exist here.

Beyond that, I went to various face-to-face events and conferences, I made contact with potential investors for my business and great professionals.

At a later stage, I got to know a couple of Israeli entrepreneurs who work specifically in the multifamily partnership in Canada, and with them I signed up for a training and mentoring program.

The course not only enriches my knowledge, but allows me to connect with a community of beginning and experienced entrepreneurs and get to know the industry from the inside.

4️⃣ Conversations with professionals:

I contacted a lawyer specializing in real estate, a mortgage consultant and property managers. Each conversation was an opportunity to understand the local market in depth and to feel confident in my start in a new country.

This journey strengthened in me the understanding that entrepreneurship is not only knowing everything on your own, but above all knowing who to turn to.

If you are also considering starting, remember that the first steps don't have to be big. Every new contact, every small post, and every conversation - can take you far.
